What Advanced Dentistry Looks Like

Dec 10 • 2 minute read

In today’s world, dentists offer more services than ever, all thanks to new developments in dental technology. It’s easier for general dentists to offer advanced services like cosmetic dentistry, orthodontic solutions like Invisalign®, as well as same-day restorations with a CEREC® machine. Advanced dentistry at is a unique fusion of knowledge, experience, and state-of-the-art treatments, that have surpassed the capabilities of dentists until now. Mehta Dental Group is a large team of dental professionals who offer quality comprehensive care at multiple locations including Brea, Los Alamitos, Pico Rivera, and Tustin.

Dental Technology

Advanced dentistry features amazing new equipment that helps dentists care for their patients in innovative, efficient, and minimally invasive ways. Some of the most advanced dental technology includes Digital X-rays, CEREC® machines, dental implants, and Invisalign®. These, as well as other recent dental breakthroughs, are all technologies that were born from the dedication of the dental community to continually improve their ability to provide thorough, precise care while ensuring your comfort.

Digital X-rays cut down on patient radiation exposure by over 90 percent and in conjunction with other technologies, allow dentists to create a 3-D image of your smile. By having screens available in operatories, dentists can obtain detailed images quickly and then easily illustrate their findings for patients.

Cerec

CEREC® machines provide dentists the benefit of an in-office restoration lab. This technology allows dentists to craft crowns, onlays or inlays, and veneers within the span of an office visit. To craft the restoration, your dentist takes a scan of your mouth, adds the material for your prosthetic, and then uses the design mode to craft your custom restoration. This equipment is so advanced, it matches the color of your teeth and ensures the perfectly-designed restoration will fit properly. Made from strong, natural-looking materials, prosthetics made with CEREC look just like your original teeth.

Dental Implants are your go-to solution for missing teeth. When one or more teeth have been extracted or damaged, implants are a long-term and proven solution for many who are seeking restorations. Implants are placed into the jawbone and, through time, fuse to your jaw and act as a healthy tooth root. Dentists then craft a prosthodontic that matches your needs and smile goals.

iTero® Scanner provides detailed digital imaging and is designed to interface with Invisalign's proprietary software, allowing patients to see the results they can expect before making the final decision to undergo treatment. This technology also aids in the precise fabrication of restorations such as crowns and bridges by providing digital images that perfectly replicate your natural teeth in 3D.

Invisalign® is an alternative orthodontic solution to clunky metal and wire braces. It is designed to be used by adult and teens, providing a discreet and effective way to straighten one’s teeth. Each of the Invisalign® aligner trays is customized to fit your teeth comfortably at every step and will gradually move your teeth into better position.

There are many more technologies that modern dentistry has to offer, like soft-tissue laser devices and cone-beam cat scanners. Depending on your dentist, you will find these or other innovations that allow your care to be expedited and individualized.
